Protecting the Marley brand

The family of late musician, reggae superstar Bob Marley has confirmed that it will work with a US company to manage the Jamaican singer’s brand and handle licensing rights for products including clothing, video games and luggage.

Hilco Consumer Capital, a private equity firm, will also develop the 2010 Bob Marley 65th Anniversary program.

Licensed product categories will also include footwear, accessories, food and beverages and hotels.

Bob Marley died in May 1981.
